Reflection:

Pharmacology is also one the very enjoyable core subjects. I really thank Dr Rao and Dr Ameya for being so humorous and fun-loving in class. Dr Rao always tries to make the subject as simple as possible, so that we can cope with this new subject at the beginning of smester one. Dr Ameya is more towards the cinical aspect where he always tells us his experience in his clinical practices as a doctor.

Pharmacology is a very relatable subject as we often come across drugs, medications and supplements in our daily lives, Hence, I find it very fun to learn this subject. It also very applicable even now in my first year of MBBS; from the lessons on antibiotics, statins, anti-gungal medication, I know what are the medications needed if I face a medical issue in my life. I can also help advise (not give a diagnosis) my family members on what to take if they have mild symptoms like fever, flue and cough.

Nevertheless, I benefit from this subject as I am more aware on drug interactions. For example, drug interaction with food, fizzy drinks, alcohol, fruits and etc. Hence I know what to do when I take my supplements and medications. This also benefits my family as I can remind them what to do, to ensure the medication works its best, and avoid unwanted side effects.
